Our first experimental lots appeared at the famous Guatemalan Finca El Socorro in April 2021

There, we processed three lots of Bourbon and Geisha varieties. This would have been impossible without the help of our good friend Raul Rodas. Raul is the 2012 World Barista Champion and a four-time national champion. He now runs Paradigma Coffee, a company that exports coffee from Guatemala. Raul is a true ambassador for his country: you can find him at the world's leading coffee exhibitions, where he always brews great coffee.

Finca El Socorro belongs to Juan Diego, who focuses on quality at every stage of coffee production. For example, he trains pickers in the correct selection of berries, pays special attention to coffee drying, and cultivates new varieties. Thanks to these efforts, lots from El Socorro have won the Guatemala Cup of Excellence in 2007, 2011, 2020, and 2023, and almost every year they make the shortlist of finalists. Juan is one of the most open-minded farmers we have worked with, and he is not afraid to take risks, just like us.
