Rwanda
An example of long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships in the coffee supply chain
We work with several producers and exporters. One of our key partners in Rwanda is Emmanuel Rusatira and his company, BAHO Coffee. They manage ten coffee washing stations across different regions of the country. For us, this became an excellent opportunity to study how terroir influences fermentation profiles. For instance, in the spring of 2025 we produced lots at the Ngoma and Gitoki washing stations, located in Rwanda’s Western and Eastern provinces respectively.
When we travel to producing countries, we don’t just create experimental lots for ourselves — we also share our knowledge with farmers. In 2024, we organized training for ten coffee washing station managers working with BAHO Coffee. We introduced them to new technologies and methods, and provided toolkits for monitoring various parameters throughout fermentation.
